Start Using netMEET app
How to download the app

- Download the app version for your OS here.
- Unzip the archive.
- On a Mac OS, right-click the application icon and choose Open.
- On Windows, open the just unzipped folder and run the application netMEET.exe
How to enter

- After you open the app, you will be requested to use the microphone. Allow it; this will help you communicate with other participants in the app using your voice. We recommend using headphones with a microphone.
- To log in to the event, enter the email you used when you registered.
- After logging in, put your name, title, company, and photo on your badge (more on this in the step below). It will help other attendees recognize you.
- Choose an avatar.
How to add a photo to a badge

- Open your photo from Facebook*, cloud storage, or any other website with public access to your photos.
- Right-click on the photo and select “Copy Image Address”.
- Paste the address into the netMEET app to attach the photo to the badge.
* To open Facebook or other applications on your computer while on the netMEET platform, please use Alt+TAB for Windows and Cmnd+TAB for Mac.
How to update a badge during an event
- Exit the environment with the Esc key.
- update your badge information.
- press Enter.
- Skip/update your avatar.
- Press Enter to reappear in the environment.
How to change your avatar during an event
- Exit the environment with the Esc key.
- refresh/skip editing the badges.
- Select a new avatar.
- Press Enter to reappear in the environment.
How to move and teleport
How to move

Use the WASD or arrow keys (← ↑ → ↓) to walk around locations.
Hold Shift when using the mentioned buttons to run fast.
How to look up, down, right and left

There are two methods to go beyond the standard view window: up and down, right and left:
- Move the cursor to the edges of the screen: up, down, right, and left.
- Click and hold the cursor. The camera will move with the cursor.
How to teleport to another part of the map

- Select “Locations” on the left panel.
- Take a look at the map that opens.
- The orange circles on the map represent available locations for teleportation.
- Click the one you want to teleport to.
How to teleport to a specific user
- Find the intended person in the chat room.
- Ask to share the location’s coordinates where the person is.
- Press the “Location” button to teleport directly to the person after the person has provided these details.
Note that teleportation may not work if there is not enough space in the destination sector for new people.
How to interact with the environment
How to sit down

- Approach the chair.
- Move your cursor onto it.
- A “Sit” icon will appear above the chair.
- Click to take a seat.
How to get through the door

- To enter or exit the building, place your cursor on the door.
- An entrance/exit icon will appear.
- click to go through.
How to view video content
- To open the video in full screen, click the video object – screen, glasses, browser.
- Use the Refresh, Zoom, Sound, and other buttons to interact with the video.
- Press Esc to exit viewing mode.
Voice communication with other users
How to turn the microphone on/off
You can find the microphone icon in the lower-left corner. Click on it to turn the sound on or off. You can also press "M" on your keyboard.
How to join a voice chat

- Find the person you want to talk to. Do this by asking the person’s location in the chat room and teleporting there.
- Place the cursor on the person to see the voice icon. A voice chat box will appear in the upper left corner.
- click to connect.
- Wait until the person approves the request to chat.
How to exit voice chat
- Find the “Exit” button in the audio channel area.
- Press to exit.
- Alternatively, you can press the Esc key.
If there is not enough space in the voice chat
It means that the virtual room has reached the limit for voice groups. To talk to a specific person, find them in the chat room and ask them to leave their current voice group and join yours.
If I can't hear people in a voice group or they can't hear me
Click the "Refresh" button in the audio channel area. You can also press the "U" button.
When the microphone does not work
The most common reason is that the netMEET software does not have access to the computer microphone. The first time you log into the app, the application automatically asks for access to the microphone. If you deny access, go to Computer Setup/Microphone/Resolved Programs. Grant netMEET access to the microphone manually.
Text chat
How to chat with one person
- Click on the chat icon in the lower right corner or press the “C” button.
- In the search bar in the upper left corner of the chat interface, type the person’s name.
- Click on the person from the search result.
- Now you can send a private message via the panel on the right side of the chat interface.
To message a specific person, you can click on their avatar in one of the group chats.
How to create a group chat
- You can either click the chat icon in the lower right corner or press “C”.
- Next to the search bar in the upper left corner, click “Create Chat” in the chat interface.
- Select the people you want to add to the chat room on the right side. You can also find their names above the list.
- Name your chat.
- Optionally, you can decorate the group chat with an image.
- Click Next. A new group chat has been created.
When you share your location in the chat, what happens?
Once you share your location, other event participants will be able to click on it and teleport directly to you, even if you have changed your location. Keep this in mind when sharing your location.
How to disable a chat message
- Click on the chat icon in the lower right corner or press “C”.
- Select the chat room you do not want to receive messages from.
- Click the Mute icon in the top right corner.
Can I leave the chat room?
No.
There is no need to leave the chat as the chat will self-liquidate when the event is over. You can mute the notifications from the chat if you do not want to receive them.
Selfies and videos
How to take selfies or videos

- Click the Photos icon at the left edge of the screen.
- Use the buttons at the bottom of the window that appears to switch from photo to video, between the front and main camera, and horizontal/vertical orientation.
- Click the largest circle button or press “Enter” to take photos or start a video.
- Once finished, you will see the result. You can save it or take a new picture.
Where can I save photos and videos?
A netMEET folder will automatically be created on your desktop. This is where your photos and videos will be saved.
Additional user functions
How to share emotions and dance

- At the left edge of the screen, click the Reactions icon or press “R.”
- Click the emotion you want to share, or press buttons 1 to 5.
- To dance, press buttons 6 to 0.
- To stop dancing, just walk away.
How to control the speaker volume from the stage

Find the "Sound from Stage" icon at the left edge of the screen. Hold and move the slider to change the volume. Alternatively, press the "+" and "-" buttons.
The sound level will also decrease when you move farther away from the stage.
How to turn others' badges on and off

At the left edge, click on the "Badges" icon or press the Latin "B".
How to switch from view 1 to view 3
At the left edge of the screen, click the "Camera View" icon or press "V".
How to hide or show the left side panel
Click the "Hide" icon on the left side or press the "Tab" button. If hidden, the panel will appear when you move the cursor to the left edge of the screen.
